STORY / GAMEPLAY Racing game, no actual story. In World Tour Racing there are 16 tracks to race and the ability to tune up to your liking your car to hit the best lap times or to try for the pole position. Tire wear and wing damages can ruin your race if you're not careful. A cockpit view along with other chase views and even a trackside camera are selectable while on track, along with the selection of automatic or manual gears. A unique feature in World Tour Racing back in the days is that it includes an automatic steering and throttle mechanism / control that you cannot turn off. It is quite noticeable when you race and more particularly when you try to enter the pits. There are three gameplay options: In Single Race you select one of the 16 available circuits and race until you to reach the top 3. In Championship mode you have to race each of the Grand Prix circuits. There's an option to practice each track and experiment with your car's current set-up (in the workshop) before starting the qualifying session. In Arcade Mode you race each circuit with a definitive objective (position, time).
AI is quite high and the other racers can be aggressive but they definitely know when to give up and fall in line. The game also includes a two-players mode via split screen.
Apart from its unique features and great presentation, World Your Racing is rather frustrating due to its poor -at times- framerate which is extremely noticeable in some tracks and especially when in two-players split screen mode..
GRAPHICS / SOUND The game's graphics are pretty good with nice backdrops, though the low resolution makes them pretty pixel-ated. The cars models are cool and the tracks' surface can be textured if you like by pressing the "8" button while on track (this will cost you a few frames dropping which it really can't spare and it doesn't look as well as you might hope). I really enjoyed though the drivers' field of view and the draw distance which give you a good perspective of the breaking points.
The sound is good, offering sampled sound effects of the engine, gear shifting, collisions etc. Screeching tires will let you know when you've lost grip and need to make an adjustment.
